In AP yesterday, I had to explain the treatment of one as a whole based on the book "Invisible Man". Well, I  explained the quote the best way i could, but the teacher said I did good but I didn't explain it how she thought i would. I went home and re-read the quote, now I understand what she was talking about.
Dr. Bledsoe said, "You can't be soft with these people. We mustn't  pamper them." Mr. Bledsoe is excluding himself from " these people" he speak of. He is a referring to the black people, but Mr. Bledsoe is black himself. He said this to Mr.Norton, I think Mr. Bledsoe forgot that he was once and still is apart of "these people" he talking about. He think just because he is more educated and is the principal of the school that he is different from his own race. I feel that he was wrong for saying that. Just because you have a little more you are still apart of the black race, and that's how the white people see it. In my opinion he made himself look bad. I think that's how my teacher wanted me to explain it. I learned that sometimes when you re-read things you understand it more and sometimes you get a different message the second time you read something.
